My name is Vikas and I'm an IT professional. My life revolves around my family & my friends and is dominated by computers.
I am an experienced Unix System Administrator, this is my first and foremost skill. In Unix, I am more inclined towards administration of Linux operating system with various opensource softwares to make my life easy. Other than Unix, I have also exposed myself to Windows System Administration, Amazon Web Services (Cloud Computing) and VMWare ESXi.
I just love fixing issues (this might sound strange to few). I am playing a role of Sys Admin since my first job, and I thank the almighty for it. In college days, I never thought that one day I would enjoy my nerdy job more than anything else.
In my leisure time, I love to read technical blogs, visit forums, try out different opensource softwares, and sleep :) .
I just loved Mathematics and Computer Science, other than these subjects I was just an average student.
Sports is worth mentioning here, I was pretty active in this arena, had represented my school in games like Volleyball and Football.

Since beginning of my professional life (even college life too), I have been involved in system administration of Unix and few Windows servers. Within few days, I had fallen for the black screen and Unix prompt. I guess, the tendency to try out difficult things and troubleshooting systems pushed me towards Unix.
I have worked at various levels in nearly every aspect of Unix system administration, from starting out as a trainee to level three support and a team lead as well.

I always wanted my own space on the web. Having a blog and sharing my thoughts or write technical posts was in my To-Do list since a long time.
I love to share whatever little knowledge I have. I hope my write-ups helps someone in need.
I enjoy learning new technologies and softwares, particularly related to sytem administration & automation, thus my posts would be inclined towards technologies.
